The flowers of the Impression group of tulips are very large and colourful. Apricot Impression has apricot coloured flowers that sit on top of stems 22" (55cms) tall. Before planting the soil should be cultivated to a depth of 25cms and well rotted compost or grit added to provide drainage in heavier soils. Tulips prefer to be planted in soils that are cooler which is normally October although if the timimngs do not work for you it is better to have them planted. Late flowering tall tulips like darwin hybrids work really well with Camassia and Alliums to bring a wealth of colour to the garden.
