Description

Arum creticum originates from the hillsides of Crete this arum is perhaps one of the most striking and desirable of the arums we offer. Pale to deep lemons spathes on top of dark green glossy leaves, it has a slight fragrance. Arums are completely hardy and make quite a point of difference in the garden.

Cultivation instructions:

Arums have very striking foliage and are ideal for growing in the shadier, colder areas of the garden. Can be grown in containers but do not let the soil dry out. They prefer to be grown in humus rich soils in the shadier areas of the garden. In soils that are not rich in humus matter use well rotted compost to add to the soil when cultivating. Cultivate the soil to a depth of 15cms and plant as per the growing information below. Keep soils moist in the first year to encourage good root development. They will grow very well with things such as anemone blandas and trilliums.

Care tips:

Using bulb starter or root grow when first planting will help them to establish for future years flowering.
