Chasmanthe floribunda Saturnus

Chasmanthe floribunda Saturnus is a spectacular variety which has 20-40 orange red flowers arranged in vertical rows on each flower spike. They are commonly known as African Flag and are native to South Africa, in particular Cape Province where they grow up to 1 metre tall. Best grown in well cultivated soils that are free draining. 

Aspect: The warmer parts of the garden, they are ok in partial shade.

Soil type: Free draining light soils. In heavier soils add grit and or well rotted humus. 

Flowering time: June-July
Height: 80-100cm
