Pewter mist is part of the hedeifolium family of cyclamen and is often selcted due to the variable silvery grey foliage that it produces. The flowers are also quite fantastic as they are a lovely rose pink. Cyclamen can be planted on receipt as we supply in nursery grown 9cm pots and are ideal under trees and in woodland areas. In summer its tubers lie dormant, dry among the tree roots; as the trees lose their leaves, the tubers feel the first autumnal rains and spring to life. Before planting cultivate the soil to a depth of 10-15cms and add humus matter to provide food and drainage.
Aspect: Shady areas under trees or similar.
Soil type: Humus rich soils that are free draining.
