Dracunculus vulgaris

The Dranunculus Vulgaris is also known as the Dragon Arum and is a spectacular if slightly unusual plant to have in your garden. Do not plant them too near to the house as when they flower they can produce quite a strong and unpleasant smell as well as attracting flies! Plant in a well drained soil that will dry in the summer and in a warm sunny spot. Flowers May to June and naturalise very well as they produce bulblets around them which will flower in subsequent years.

Flowering time: June-July
Height: 100-120cm
